Besides many tiny (here undescribed) modifications and corrections, the following alterations are to be pointed out.
- The Program takes now care of all necessary registrations.
- A new project wizard was added. With it, a simple project (area radius =50 * Hq, raster width= Hq) can be created. The dialog pops up on program start and can later be found in the menu tools.
- Some Menus, which appear again in the graphic programs, have been removed from the main program.
- Copying a project over an existing one functions properly now.
- Editing of an empty batch doesn't show an unnecessary error message anymore.
- An additional subtitle in area map like illustrations (PK_GRAF) has been added. This is now used for automatic generated titles. Hence, the primary title is now available for a project title.
- In PK_GRAF and PK_Export, now one can selected existing tables only.
- A new property for threshold illustrations has been added (PK_GRAF).
- The line width can now be adjusted for Objects in the area map (PK_GRAF).

When, after a program crash, temporary files in the temporary folder
were not cleaned up, a following calculation could abort with no message. The
temporary folder will now be checked for files matching the mask $*.$$$ before
a calculation and the user will be prompted to delete these files. The program
dealing with this matter has been fixed and has been made available for

Documentation
The documentation was extended by navigation aids at the end of each page. An index page, which gives outline of the menu structure, was added. This page contains links to almost every form.
Concentration array
The lower limit for deposition velocity and sedimentation velocity was set to 0.
Statistical data
When selecting a dispersion category statistic, the working directory is no longer changed.
The allocated times of the situations are standardized to 100% now when leaving the form. This was implemented, because the old version hat led to misunderstandings.
Seven digit Gauß-Krüger Coordinates are usable now. They get properly formatted now in the grid.
The form of the preloadings was extended by a button, with which a pre-allocated matrix can be produced.
If the preloadings are deleted, the total pollution can be calculated now, in order to remove them from the log. This menu option was not enabled for this case.
The additional load in the tables " characteristics... " appeared sometimes as 0 and thus the total load was not calculated correctly.
The names for situations have been added to the log file and the title "Name" was changed to Situation.
Table forms
When duplicating a row, the new data set will always be appended and made the current one. After deleting a row, the last row (if available) will become the current row.
The attempt to delete the lower gray row will no longer produce an error, instead this will cause a beep signal.
Wind rose
A representation of the wind rose without mark points and circular is now possible. This will be the default in version 5.2.
The wind rose was extended by input fields/forms for titles and axis settings.
Batch processing
Old batch files (p&k_3782.in4) were not always read in correctly. It is now always checked, if it is an old file format and then possibly converted into the new format.
Label format in illustrations
The format of numbers in the illustrations is not satisfying always. See for this the note in the documentation and the new fields in the appropriate forms.
Export
The Buttons ">>" and "<<" do insert the elements in unmodified order now.
Deleting and Inserting of Columns are made by column now and no longer from the modified column on to the right of the grid. This keeps user settings in proper order.
In case the HTML-Layout needs to be modified, a so called stylesheet-file can be used. It is important that this file, e.g. ie.css, is accessible. The file can be defined with the line head.include=<link REL="STYLESHEET" TYPE="text/css" HREF="ie.css"> in the file p&k.ini in the program directory. Simple modifications can be accomplished withhead.include=<STYLE>td {font-size:9pt;}</STYLE>. This setting tells the browser to display the content of table cells in 9 point font size. Other used HTML-Elements are: th (table header cells), h2 (headings), h3 (sub headings) and p (paragraph).
The illustration of the tables can be controlled with e.g. the entry Table.Properties=CELLSPACING=1 CELLPADDING=2 WIDTH="640" in p&k.ini. These settings determine the width of the table to 640 pixel, cells are padded with 2 pixels and between cells there is a space of 1 pixel. The setting Table.Properties=CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 generates the most compact illustration.
Version 5.1/Windows
Full Windows support with the appropriate operation. You no longer need to learn any code numbers for program control. You can select, from easily understandable lists, which variants the program should calculate. Now with more attractive lists and graphics, which can be printed to standard Windows printers or inserted via the clipboard into other programs. Also graphics can be zoomed or moved.
The program is present in German and English.
For most graphics axis-scale factors can be entered, with which the numbers can be transformed into legible dimensions.
Isolines are not optional any more. The program contains them already.
For documentation and for using the data in other programs easily (e.g. "surfer", "AutoCad", spreadsheets or text processing programs), there is a export tool now. With that tool, data can be combined flexibly and stored in different formats. For quick documentation, a HTML-format can be selected here.
Version 4.0/DOS
We offer a PC program, P&K_3782, to carry out dispersion calculations for dust and air pollutants according to the guidelines VDI 3782 part 1 and TA Luft 86 with the options Cooling tower and Expert.
On the basis of dispersion category statistics (including precipitation statistics), annual average values and percentiles for ambient air concentration and deposition can be calculated.
VDI 3782 permits the consideration of sedimentation, scavenging of particles, chemical reduction, barrier layer reflection and material flow preservation in the waste gas plume. The deposited mass is inferred from the lower plume area. The plume rise model also considers the mechanical lift (cold sources).
A large number of point sources, line sources, and area sources can be considered, as well as receptor points and evaluation areas with pre-pollution.
The option "Cooling tower" equips the program with an interface to call the VDI program VDISP for the calculation of ambient air concentrations in the case that channeling occurs over a cooling tower in accordance with the guideline VDI 3784 part 2.
With the option "Expert", characteristics over different statistics (daily periods of operation, yearly variation, I2-dust) and sources with other dispersion parameters (starting turbulence, land development) can be calculated. When there are several sources, the source-referred analysis of the ambient air concentration in the form of tables and histograms is possible.
The prognosticated characteristics in different presentations (colored squares, placed numbers, or isolines) can be printed as well as transferred to other programs.
